dailyloe.com – Five-star senior guard Dylan Mingo has committed to Baylor University, as he announced to ESPN on Monday. Mingo, considered the best available guard in the 2026 class, previously committed to North Carolina. He reopened his recruitment following a coaching change at UNC.
Baylor was among the finalists for Mingo when he initially chose the Tar Heels in February. After Mingo became available, Baylor’s head coach Scott Drew and his staff re-engaged in the recruitment process. Mingo expressed confidence in his decision, noting, “Baylor has such a positive coaching staff, and it starts with Coach Drew.”
He highlighted the loyalty and trustworthiness of Coach Drew and his staff, stating, “Coach Drew is tough on his players and sticks with them during tough times.” Mingo also reflected positively on his visit to Baylor, saying, “I loved my visit there. I am excited to go there. It is a very positive culture.”
Dylan Mingo will be joining his brother, Kayden, at Baylor, who recently transferred from Penn State earlier this month.
