dailyloe.com – The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4-0 on Friday, April 17, 2026, in the second game of a four-game series at home. Daniel Schneemann hit a decisive grand slam home run in the seventh inning to provide all the game’s scoring. The win followed a Guardians victory over the Orioles by a score of 4-2 on Thursday, April 16. The Guardians entered the game with an 11-9 record, trailing the Minnesota Twins by half a game in the American League Central Division.

The game remained scoreless through six innings before the Guardians’ offense erupted in the seventh. Steven Kwan reached base on an error to start the inning against Orioles pitcher Grant Wolfram. Chase DeLauter then doubled down the left field line, and José Ramírez was intentionally walked to load the bases with no outs. Wolfram struck out Kyle Manzardo before being replaced on the mound by Anthony Nunez.

The grand slam scored Steven Kwan, Chase DeLauter, and José Ramírez, giving the Guardians a 4-0 lead. This marked Schneemann’s second grand slam in his major league career. Anthony Nunez then got Angel Martinez to fly out to center fielder Leody Taveras to end the inning.

Guardians starting pitcher Tanner Bibee delivered six scoreless innings before exiting the game. Bibee allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five batters. He threw 96 pitches, with 60 of them being strikes. Hunter Gaddis entered the game in relief of Bibee to pitch the seventh inning for the Guardians.
