dailyloe.com – Cory Mills, a candidate for Florida’s 7th Congressional District, addressed comparisons between his personal scandals and those of U.S. Representatives Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales. During an encounter with NewsNation reporter Joe Khalil, Mills stated he should not be categorized with them.
Mills emphasized that he has never faced accusations involving a relationship with a staff member. He said, “I don’t even fall into the category of Swalwell and Gonzales. One, I’m not married, so there’s one thing. Two, I’ve never sexually harassed and or had any complaints by any staffers or interns on the Hill.”
His remarks come as House members seek to address issues of personal conduct. Mills has faced scrutiny over allegations, including an alleged assault of a girlfriend in Washington and threats to publish intimate photos of another woman in Florida.
Last year, the Metropolitan Police investigated claims of a domestic altercation involving Mills and Sarah Raviani, co-founder of Iranians for Trump. Raviani later opted not to press charges and criticized the politicization of the situation.
Additionally, Lindsey Langston, a Republican State Committeewoman, stated that she ended her relationship with Mills after discovering his past with Raviani. She claimed Mills threatened to distribute intimate photos and videos, leading to a restraining order against him.
Mills noted that he was married during these incidents but claimed to be legally separated. His divorce was finalized earlier this year.
In contrast, Swalwell resigned following multiple accusations of sexual harassment and assault from staffers, including a claim of assault while the staffer worked for him. Gonzales also faced allegations that led to his resignation.
