Elam, who is 24 years old, played for two teams during the previous NFL season. He began the 2025 season with the Dallas Cowboys after a trade from Buffalo. The Cowboys later waived him in November, leading to his signing with the Tennessee Titans.
He appeared in a total of 14 games last season, starting seven for Dallas. With the Titans, Elam played in four games without starting. His career totals now include 43 games played and 19 starts since entering the league.
Elam was originally selected 23rd overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2022 NFL Draft. During his three seasons with Buffalo, he recorded eight passes defensed and two interceptions. The Bills traded him to Dallas at the start of the 2025 league year in March.
