dailyloe.com – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated reliever Brock Stewart on May 6, 2026, after he missed the first five weeks of the season. Stewart’s activation comes as the Dodgers prepare for the series finale against the Houston Astros at Daikin Park.
Stewart underwent right shoulder debridement surgery in late September and struggled during spring training. In his eight rehab appearances at various levels, he struck out 13 of 27 batters faced, achieving a 48.1 percent strikeout rate over 6 1/3 scoreless innings.
During his rehab, Stewart threw 112 pitches and generated 23 swinging strikes, including 15 in 4 2/3 innings pitched at Triple-A. He averaged 95.5 mph on his four-seam fastball and 94.8 mph on his sinker.
To accommodate Stewart on the active roster, the Dodgers optioned left-hander Jake Eder to Triple-A. Eder made four appearances with the Dodgers, allowing one run in four innings and recording one strikeout.
Eder had previously earned his first major league win on May 1 against the Miami Marlins. He was acquired from the Washington Nationals for cash considerations on April 1 and had pitched in 12 major league games over the past three seasons.
Prior to his call-up, Eder had been a starter in the minor leagues, with 69 of his appearances being starts. His recent performance included three relief appearances for Oklahoma City before joining the Dodgers.
