dailyloe.com – Embark Studios has launched a major update for its cooperative shooter ARC Raiders, introducing new enemy types and a significant map event called ARC Operations. The update centers on a mysterious machine called the Assessor, which lands with unprecedented ARC patrols. This event, named Close Scrutiny, presents a new challenge for players.
Scouts report that Shredder enemies are escaping containment while new laser-equipped ARC units patrol the skies. Large, unarmed machines are making controlled landings across the game’s grounds. These hulls are believed to contain valuable salvageable resources for players.
The primary objective involves investigating the Assessor, a non-aggressive but heavily guarded object. An in-game character named Celeste tasks players with discovering its purpose. Simultaneously, Raiders seek to loot whatever valuable items it carries.
ARC Operations significantly alters the standard map conditions, reducing general loot availability. This shifts player focus toward the Assessor’s potential riches. The event is described as not being for the faint-of-heart, requiring players’ best gear.
A new enemy type called the Vaporizer has been introduced, stalking areas around the operation. This flying ARC unit employs devastating laser attacks. Its unique attack patterns have already earned notoriety among the player base.
The update also includes new craftable weapons developed by the character Tian Wen. Players can now find Blueprints for new weaponry and gadgets. One new weapon is the Canto, a submachine gun using medium ammunition.
The Canto is designed for effective close-quarters combat against ARC machines. It also serves as a deterrent against opportunistic human player opponents. This addition provides fresh tactical options for Raiders.
This Flashpoint update represents a substantial evolution for the free-to-play PvPvE title. It encourages players to abandon usual tactics and adapt. The focus is on high-risk, high-reward engagements centered on major new objectives.[]
