dailyloe.com – Apple’s first foldable iPhone is reportedly coming this fall. Rumors indicate it will be called the iPhone Ultra. The device is expected to be a high-end model with several new features.

The iPhone Ultra will have an extremely unique design for an iPhone. It will feature a book-style fold and be wider than it is tall when unfolded. The outer display will look shorter and wider than other iPhone screens. The inner display will resemble an iPad mini in size and shape.

The inner display of the iPhone Ultra is expected to have a crease-free design. This would be a big breakthrough for the foldable form factor. The device will take design cues from the iPhone Air. It will have a titanium border and be ultra-thin when unfolded.

When folded, the iPhone Ultra will resemble two iPhone Airs stacked together. However, it will be thinner than that configuration. Rumors say only black and white color options will be offered for the new model.

The iPhone Ultra will have two displays. One display is on the outside, and another is revealed when unfolded. Rumored dimensions for the outer display are 5.3 to 5.5 inches. The inner display is rumored to be 7.6 to 7.8 inches.

The outer screen will somewhat resemble an iPhone mini in size. It will have a wider aspect ratio than the iPhone mini. The inner screen could come very close to resembling an iPad mini in the hand. This provides a larger viewing area when the device is open.

The iPhone Ultra will have two rear cameras. These are a 48MP Main and a 48MP Ultra Wide camera. Users who choose the Ultra over a Pro model will miss the Telephoto camera. They will not have its increased zoom capabilities.

Since it has two displays, the iPhone Ultra will come with two front-facing cameras. There will be one camera for each display. Not much is known about these front cameras. Apple will likely use the same 18MP Center Stage camera launched with iPhone 17 last year.

A hole-punch design is expected for the front-facing cameras. This design choice maintains screen real estate. The cameras will be integrated into the display. This is a common design in modern smartphones.

iOS 27 is expected to bring new software features exclusive to iPhone Ultra. According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, two main upgrades are coming. These are side-by-side apps for multitasking and iPad-like app layouts.

Gurman says the device will not support the full-fledged windowing features of iPadOS 26. It also will not run iPadOS at all when unfolded. iOS 27 will take several cues from the iPad’s software nonetheless. The software will adapt to the foldable form factor.

The iPhone Ultra will come with a new A20 Pro chip. It will also feature a C2 cellular modem. These components will provide processing power and connectivity. They represent the latest in Apple’s silicon technology.[]
