dailyloe.com – Akshat Raghuwanshi made his Indian Premier League debut on May 4, 2026, as a middle-order batter for Lucknow Super Giants. This debut occurred against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.

Captain Rishabh Pant confirmed Raghuwanshi’s inclusion after losing the toss. He noted the team had made three changes, including Raghuwanshi, amid a struggling batting lineup.

Raghuwanshi was purchased for ₹2.2 crore during the previous auction, becoming a sought-after player following his impressive performance in the Madhya Pradesh League in 2025. His aggressive batting style had made him a notable prospect heading into the season.

As LSG faced challenges at the bottom of the league table, Raghuwanshi’s inclusion aimed to bolster their batting efforts. Pant stated, “We have three changes. Josh Inglis comes in, Mukul goes out, and Raghuwanshi is making his debut.”

Raghuwanshi began playing cricket at three years old, guided by his father in Gwalior. He steadily progressed and gained recognition during the 2021–22 Ranji Trophy season.

During his Ranji debut against Meghalaya, Raghuwanshi scored a century and followed it with a half-century in his second match. He also demonstrated leadership skills as the captain of Madhya Pradesh’s U-19 team in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy.

His List A statistics include 361 runs in 17 innings with an average of 22.81. Fans and analysts alike look forward to seeing how Raghuwanshi performs in this high-pressure environment of the IPL.
